Position Overview:

The Body Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the body shop department, including staff supervision, production scheduling, safety compliance, and equipment maintenance. This position ensures high-quality repairs and efficient workflow, while promoting a safe and productive environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Supervise body shop technicians and assign daily tasks.
  • Interpret job orders and assign duties to team members.
  • Conduct safety meetings and manage local safety program reporting.
  • Motivate and support employees to meet performance and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping for shop employees.
Production Oversight & Quality Control
  • Study production schedules to estimate labor requirements.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production goals.
  • Ensure all products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems; assist technicians when needed.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain equipment and coordinate necessary service or repairs.
  • Enforce safety standards and housekeeping practices throughout the shop.
Process Improvement & Coordination
  • Recommend improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to optimize workflow.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy and conformance to specifications.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an automotive or RV body shop leadership role
  • Knowledge of RV repair, carpentry, fiberglass, and electrical systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret job specifications and schedules.
  • Proficient with computer software used for scheduling and timekeeping.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and using hands and arms.
  • Must be able to frequently climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25-50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, peripheral, and depth perception with ability to adjust focus.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
