We are seeking an experienced and skilled Permanent Commercial Carpenter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of commercial construction, with expertise in carpentry. This role requires a hands-on professional who is not only competent in the technical aspects of the job but also possesses excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic. The successful candidate will be working on various commercial projects, including office buildings, retail stores, and other commercial facilities. Responsibilities:
1. Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and building plans to meet the needs of the client.
2. Constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools.
3. Inspecting buildings and structures to gauge the need for repairs or renovations.
4. Working with materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall.
5. Managing the layout of projects, including marking cut lines on materials, drilling holes in components, and assembling the structures.
6. Collaborating with the project management team to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
7. Ensuring all projects adhere to safety regulations and standards.
8. Maintaining an organized and clean workspace.
9. Analyzing and resolving work problems and assisting workers in solving work problems.
10. Continually improving processes and procedures to achieve superior results.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of commercial carpentry experience is required.
2. High school diploma or equivalent. A degree from a vocational school or a carpentry apprenticeship is a plus.
3. Proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.)
4. In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
5. Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
6. Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
7. Punctual, reliable, and with a strong work ethic.
8. Good physical condition and endurance, with the ability to lift heavy objects and work in varying weather conditions.
9. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
10. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a part of a team.
11. A valid driver's license is required.
12. Certification in relevant carpentry or construction fields will be considered an advantage.
