Job Description:

A healthcare system based in Massachusetts is looking for a certified Pharmacy Technician to join their home delivery pharmacy in Holden, MA. This pharmacy provides next day delivery and pick up options for patients. Currently in Phase I, this pharmacy fills about 60 scripts per day and is staffed with 3 pharmacists and 3 pharmacy technicians. Under the direct supervision of a technician supervisor and pharmacist, the pharmacy technician will perform medication related tasks such as packaging, preparation of all forms of medications, record keeping, and all nonjudgmental aspects of drug distribution.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30am-5pm

Major Responsibilities:

• Provide over-the-phone refills and manage patient inquiries.
• Interact with patients at the walk-in window
• Perform medication reconciliation for new diagnoses
• Process and manage 60 scripts per day, with a goal to increase to 400 scripts per day through new insurance contracts.
• Perform data entry tasks, including familiarity with insurance and billing.
• Mentor and train new pharmacy technicians.
• Partner with hospital units for home delivery services.
• Maintain good work ethic and effective communication skills.
• Prepare for Phase II expansion to handle 800-1000 scripts per day by end of year.

Required Skills and Experience:

• At least 6 months of experience working as a pharmacy technician

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• PTCB
• Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician License
• Proficient in math. Knowledge and ability to use a computer for data entry
• Familiarity with billing and insurance
