Description The Quarry Golf Club is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the club, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, finance, IT operations and leadership, with the ability to analyze financial data and provide strategic guidance to management including the use and maintenance of technology. Position Overview: Chief Financial Officer Key Responsibilities: Manage all aspects of the club's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting and IT functions. Oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities. Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. Prepare the monthly trial balance and resulting financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Changes in Financial Condition for the club along with required supporting schedules and other data necessary for financial reports and records. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and board of directors. Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency. Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external auditors and tax advisors. Oversee 401k plan. Review investment decisions by investment advisors. Prepare 1099’s and W2 for year-end reports. Work with the club’s external auditors to assure that procedures are consistent with club policies. Prepare budgets and financial forecasts in coordination with the various committees, departments and General Manager; analyze financial information, monitor budgeted versus actual expenditures and advise management about variances and their potential causes; recommend corrective actions to help assure that budget goals are met. Direct, participate in and verify the taking of inventories for beverages, food, supplies, equipment, furnishings, etc. Verify that all insurance records for club property are properly maintained. Reconcile monthly ledgers including receivables, payables, bank accounts, asset accounts and wage accounts. Attend monthly Board, Finance Committee and other meetings as required. Collaborate with department heads and management to develop and monitor departmental budgets and financial performance. Stay informed of industry trends, regulations, and best practices in accounting and finance. Problem-Solving Abilities: Aptitude for identifying financial challenges, developing innovative solutions, and implementing effective measures to address them. Adaptability: Flexibility to navigate evolving market conditions, regulatory changes, and organizational priorities while maintaining financial stability and resilience. Collaboration: Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with all departments and Committees to drive overall organizational success. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a Controller leadership role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards. Experience in the hospitality or club industry preferred. Additionally, experience with capital projects, i.e. golf course renovations, is a plus. Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office suite; experience with JONAS required and Power BI, a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Has a business acumen with strong dashboard and KPI/metric focus. Take a proactive approach to data-driven analysis to assist and advise GM/COO and Department Heads. Embraces implementations of new technologies and programs.
