Job Description

General Function: With moderate supervision, utilize detailed documentation to perform basic inspection, testing, upgrades and repairs of "Devices" that include, but are not limited to, desktop PCs, laptop, printers and peripherals.

• Repair of damaged/nonfunctioning devices of a single category, e.g. laptops, including the replacement of non-warranty parts.
• Disassemble devices found to be damaged or non functioning to reclaim parts.
• Refurbish and cleanse devices prior to storage or shipping.
• Following detailed instructions or diagrams.
• Perform basic testing of devices
• Adhere to all company and department policies, processes and procedures.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this class, employees are regularly required to stand or walk for up to 95% of the time; talk or hear, in person and by multi-media; use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate tools, air hoses, office equipment and tiny computer parts (smaller than ¼ inch); reach with hands and arms and lift up to 45 lbs. Employees are frequently required to walk, stand and move about to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Must have ability to ascend and descend stairs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this class, employees are regularly required to effectively use English for written and oral communications; read and interpret data, information, technical instructions and documents; basic problem solving skills, use math and mathematical reasoning; learn and apply new skills and information; perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; and interact with colleagues. Must maintain composure in a fast paced, high quality environment where personal and team accountabilities are the defining factors

General Office Environment

Work is generally performed at workbenches with tools and standard office equipment available.
