Diesel Parts Direct (Diesel Specialists, LLC) is a family-owned business located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. For over 40 years, we have serviced the industrial and commercial marine markets throughout Louisiana, the United States and the rest of the world. Specializing in Engine Repair, we are an Authorized Dealer and Full-Service Provider for Perkins, Deutz, Kubota, Yanmar, Isuzu, Scania and Hatz diesel engines. We also support other manufacturers such as Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, John Deere, Northern Lights and Westerbeke.

 

Job Title: Diesel Engine Service Technician

 

Responsibilities:

• Perform quality maintenance, diagnostics, inspections and rebuilds as needed.
• Must be able to disassemble and reassemble engines, components and equipment as needed(i.e.: engines, power trains, hydraulics, fuel systems, power generation, electrical systems, etc.).
• Be familiar with diesel fuel systems, power generation, electrical systems, diagnostic equipment, etc.
• Must work well with others and be willing to conduct themselves in accordance with our company values.
• Willing and able to work in the shop or at customers' locations.
• Willing and able to travel if needed.
• Applies documented procedures and policies to complete repairs and schedule maintenance.
• Assists with the completion of repairs, required documentation, or other company departments.
• Able to travel for training required by manufacturers to maintain dealership requirements.
• Maintains a safe and clean work area and environment.
• Maintains tools and equipment in a safe manner and good working order.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental Policies, Procedures and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

Our service technicians are responsible for their own tools. Candidates should have 3+ years of heavy-duty industrial diesel engine knowledge and experience! Plus be able to lift or move +25lbs. Pay $DOE. Normal work hours are 7:00-3:30PM with min ½ hr lunch break, M-F. Medical, Dental, Vision.
