AWS/CES is looking for a Welding Department Manager

📍 Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL

💰 Compensation: $80,000 - $85,000 per year

🕒 Shift: Day Shift | Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Must-Have Maritime Experience ( This is required 8+ years)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Welding Department Manager to lead and oversee welding operations. This role involves managing personnel, ensuring safety compliance, inspecting final products, and maintaining high-quality standards for a Maritime Company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate all welding operations, ensuring compliance with guidelines and contract requirements.
• Supervise welding and fabrication in aluminum, non-ferrous, and stainless steel.
• Ensure all required certifications are maintained.
• Manage a team of welders and monitor performance.
• Work with Service Operations leadership to improve welding processes.
• Conduct inspections, develop weld procedures, and ensure NDE compliance.
• Act as a liaison between customers and management.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Required Experience & Competencies:

• 5+ years of welding experience , including supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, processes, and equipment .
• Experience with problem-solving, leadership, communication, planning, and scheduling .
• Ability to develop welding procedures and conduct root cause analysis of defects.
• Knowledge of NDT methods and compliance with contract documents and Class requirements.
• Proficiency with computer systems and reporting tools .

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, push, pull, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs .
• Exposure to temperature and humidity changes , working outdoors, and around water.
