Job Description:
PortoVino seeks to hire a full-time representative based in New York City.

PortoVino: We are a small-medium sized national importer of mostly Italian and French wines, with a few German and Austrian producers because we like them.

We are looking for a candidate:
-Willing and able to visit accounts 4 days a week with the flexibility for light travel and some evening availability.
-Outgoing, with an energetic personality and genuine love of selling European wine. Excited about all of the parts of our portfolio: edgy geeky wines, cool daily drinkers, traditional producers.
-Involved and connected within the wine scene. Someone who floats between many circles within the wine world and has a deep rolodex.
-Confident in assessing and discussing a range of styles of wine: natural, classic, fine, etc.
-Eager to engage, learn and enjoy all phases of the sale and promotion cycle. Someone who is continuing to hone their salescraft.
-Self-manager who learns from peer critique.
-Fluid in all communication mediums: social, email, phone, text, and in person.

Required Prerequisites:
-Must have lived in the city for at least the past 3 years with
-Ability to lift a 12-pack case of wine.
-5 years of experience working in the wine industry.
-Professional and/or personal connections to a range of wine industry people, including in restaurants and retail shops.
- A true passion for wine!

Compensation:
Base salary; insurance stipend; commission on sales; bonuses; monthly expenses. Staff trips to Europe.
